790 Second Street • Macon, GA 31202-0108 • (478) 464-5600
To establish new water and sewer (if applicable) service with the Macon Water Authority, please call 478-464-5600, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, prior to the start date of the requested service. Customers requesting that service be established on the same day as the request will be required to pay a "Same Day Service" fee of $35.00, in addition to other applicable fees.
Most applications can be completed over the phone; however, some new MWA Customers may be required to come into our business office, located at 790 Second Street in Macon, to provide additional documentation.
An application fee of $25 is due at the time service is requested. In addition to the application fee, a security deposit may be required to establish a new account. For residential customers, the security deposit is based on credit worthiness and may be increased, waived, or decreased. An additional deposit, up to three (3) times the average monthly bill for water and sewer services, could be required based on past payment history. Security deposits will be returned after one year of good payment history, or when the account is closed with no balance owed. Commercial customers may call us for a deposit quote on their services.
In addition to the application fee and the security deposit, new MWA Customers may be asked to provide photo identification and proof of ownership, or a copy of their lease, prior to the account being established.
To protect the interior of your 金博棋牌 or business from water damage at the time your account is established, please check to make sure that all indoor faucets -- including the connections to the washing machine and ice maker for your refrigerator -- are turned off before service is connected. If when the field peronnel arrive at the service location (your 金博棋牌 or business) and an open faucet is found, the water service will not be turned on. The MWA will only make one additional attempt to turn on the water at the location without assessing an additional fee for return visits. Additional trips to the location will result in a $20 fee being assessed to the account; thus, someone will need to be at the location to verify that there are no running faucets. Any water damage to your property as a result of the water service being turned on at the meter is the responsibility of the MWA Customer. If you are uncertain whether all water connections are turned off, this is yet another reason we recommend that you be present when the MWA technicians turn on your water service.
At this time, the MWA does not offer Customers the ability to sign up for service online; however, we are working diligently to be able to provide new MWA customers with this added convenience in the future.
